Starlight Beds review: budget mattresses with free shipping and small sale discounts

This is a research-based review. We read the Starlight Beds site on 11 October 2026. We have not bought or slept on one of its mattresses.

What it sells#

Starlight Beds sells mattresses in budget and mid-range constructions: memory foam, hybrid and open-coil sprung. It describes itself as a UK manufacturer, which is a claim we did not independently check. For how to compare construction and firmness, see buying a mattress without the showroom.

Prices and offers#

The site has a sale collection, but no stated percentage or code. Example prices on the day: a 22cm Cooler Extreme at £99.74 (regular price £104.99) and a grey memory foam hybrid "from £53.19" (was £55.99). Both work out at roughly 5 percent. The store labels the higher price "regular", and we could not tell whether it was ever the selling price. Shipping is shown as free, but costs and conditions were not visible.

What we could not see#

The pages we read did not show the trial period, guarantee or returns terms; a "Refund Policy" link existed. Mattress returns are the costly part of an online purchase, because they are bulky. Read the policy before you pay, and ask: how long do I have, who collects, and is the refund in full?

The trade-offs#

At prices like these, you are buying a simple mattress. That can suit a guest room, a child's bed or a rental. Cheap mattresses vary in foam density and durability, which a listing rarely shows, so look for layer thickness and materials.

Our take#

A reasonable place to price-check. The savings are modest, so don't treat the sale tag as a reason to buy. We have not scored the store yet.
